Tajikistan’s Embassy in Ankara on Thursday hosted a reception to mark the 21st anniversary of the independence of Tajikistan.

Many dignitaries, including Turkish Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Nihat Ergun, attended the reception hosted by the Ambassador of Tajikistan in Ankara, Faruk Saripov.

Speaking at the reception, Nihat Ergun said that Tajikistan made great progress in all fields since gaining independence 21 years ago.

“Turkey watches with appreciation Tajikistan’s progress,” Ergun underlined.

“Turkey and Tajikistan resemble each other in many ways. Mevlana Rumi and Imami Aza Abu Hanife are important architects of cultural similarity between the two countries,” Ergun stated.
